30th August 2002	1 MORE New member to SETI Synergy in the past few days. GOKUSSJ2 joins us with 19 WUs complete! Our 42nd member from United Kingdom. Babbling from Zain... And on a sad note one of our Hall of Famers left us yesterday, Dick Mosley. He didn't let us know why, and doesn't appear to be in any other team yet. It is all a bit of a mystery. I will keep you posted if I hear more. Slips us back one spot to 100th overall again. I wont be recruiting any new members personally until after my exams (when I plan to go VERY silly with some very big recruiting, HUGE updates and special things happening). But if you know anyone that is in SETI, or has a spare computer around make sure you let them know about us... Also in other SETI Synergy News, I have added TWO MORE sections to our FORUM! The "SETI Synergy Cocktail Lounge" where people post just about anything they like was SO popular I decided to create individual forums for "Official SETI@home News and Information" which as our members notice official posts at the SETI@home page or anywhere else on the web the information and links are copied there, and also a humour section titled "The SETI Synergy Funny Farm" where members can post all things funny including jokes, pictures, email funnies that people spam out etc. So far the response is great. That is what my brain says to me every day. Time getting away for the final exams I have in just under 12 weeks. A HUGE update today, I think you will all enjoy it. Our 20th member from Germany. (Germany ranked #3 for Number of Members, ranked #6 for Work Units by Country) 500 MEMBERS! A huge day for SETI Synergy. To think just 18 months ago we had just 1 member (me) and slowly but surely we have grown each week to the wonderful team of world wide crunchers we are. Some people enjoy SETI for the personal achievement, others for helping the project... I enjoy it cause of our wonderful team! As to exactly WHO was our 500th member? Well that may remain a mystery. It was either Goofy or Jimbo_2400. At 7am yesterday we have 499, and by 4pm when I arrived home we had 501. There is no official record of these type of things kept by SETI for me... so to be our own little unexplained phenomenon! As for the people that "left"... Rudedog renamed (as did Adam earlier in the week), and Ffenliv actually didn't mean to leave, it seems a "friend" of his hacked into his account and made him leave... he will be coming home REAL soon grin MWyatt ROCKETS into our Hall of Fame!

This will result in a 2 hour outage beginning sometime between 07:00 and 13:00 UT.
