great to see we still have the ability to pull members no

achievement, and one that SETI enthusiasts dream of reaching

Gaussians!
These are all the Gaussians sent in over the
last week by our members. Many Personal Bests... but also
some REAL WINNERS making our Top 20 lists! Very
impressive.
Gaussians remain a HOT FAVOURITE of many

Are these messages from outer space?
A Gaussians just a pretty pattern in the radio wave
signal that "could" be an alien message! If you run
the Screensaver or GUI version of SETI you see them flash up in the
top left hand corner of the screen. GREAT Gaussians are
automatically sent back to SETI for further analysis, but if you run
a little program called Seti SPY you can keep a copy and even send
them in to us to make our "Best Gaussian Tables"!
Every member that sends in ANY Gaussian will
automatically get on the "Individual
Member Gaussian - Personal Best" table. Nearly 40
members have sent in a Gaussian from our tam, and the list is
growing every week! Join the crazy to look at YOUR signals

Getting close now... just 6 members short of 500!
It will be one of our HUGE milestones! I
have personally vowed to crunch a few workunits FOR the person
that is our 500th member, as a prize if you like for being such
an important member. I know a few other members that post
at our FORUM
are going to do the same! It would be worth a NICE amount
of work units! If your thinking of joining NOW is the time
to do it!
I will do a BIG GAUSSIAN update tomorrow when I
get home in the evening... stay tuned for that as some HOT HOT
ones have come in the last week!

I had a little spare time today, so had a read
through some of the SETI@home profiles again and let the
owners of the profiles that are NOT in SETI teams (and some of
them are GREAT profiles) about SETI Synergy.
For those people... Enjoy having a look around our site, feel free
to post on our forum and meet some of our members, or to reply
to the email with any questions you may have. Many many
people running SETI eventually find us (for whatever reason),
see the things we have here to keep SETI exciting (even for
the old school crunchers from 1999), and end up joining!

An amazing effort by René who is still FLYING
up the rankings. 10K work units is just mind-blowing for
most of us, and it is one of the GREAT achievements for any
SETI member. A BIG round of applause from myself and ALL

official SETI site)... well worth a look below.

data server traffic down to the PAIX, will be doing some

1:00am 28th July... (is there a pattern?)
Late night again...
Time to get a few more updates done, half way through this
weekend. I have been occupied with the forums lately,
making changes. Unfortunately I seemed to have found a
bug in the forum that has caused our POLLS there to
crash. Not a HUGE problem, but the polls are fun.
I am working away to try and fix it, but may take a few days
as the access I need has to be approved.

and I have obliged.
